11 December, Opera Hall, 7 pm

The festive concert "Spain-Fire and Passion" from the series of Christmas-New Year's performances of the State Opera-Stara Zagora will offer the fans of classical music sparkling works, embodiment of the passionate Spanish temperament.

The programme includes Georges Bizet's Suite Arlesianca for orchestra /1838-1875/, an iconic work whose motifs were later incorporated into the ballet music of the opera Carmen.

Passion may have doomed Carmen, but her image will live on in the world forever. The magic of the Spanish gypsy has fascinated many composers since Bizet. One of them was Enio Hubai /1858-1937/- Hungarian violinist and composer. Himself an exceptional virtuoso, he was able to convey his deep feeling and love for the wild and passionate Carmen, creating the original instrumental fantasy - "Carmen"- for violin and orchestra.

The programme of the concert on 11 December also includes another premiere title - Concerto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo /1901-1999/. This most famous concerto for classical guitar and orchestra, which made its composer world-famous, was written in Paris in 1939 and is now recognised as one of the most significant works of the 20th century. The idea for the concerto was inspired by personal experiences of the composer and his wife, in the gardens of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez. Much love and much sadness resound in Rodrigo's music.

The soloist in this concert is the young Italian guitarist Adalisa Castellanetta. A graduate of the Conservatory of Music in Bari /Italy/, she specialized with Maestro José Tomás in Spain and at the Academy in Rome. She has performed in many concerts both in Italy and abroad. She has participated in festivals in Ljubljana, at the Arena di Verona, the international festival "Kiev- summer music events", etc. She has been a soloist of the Chamber Orchestra of Mainheim, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, the Mainz-Virtuosi Chamber Music Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Radio and Television Orchestra. For his performances as a soloist he receives the highest praise from the press and music critics. They call them "delicate-sensitive", "both noble and lyrical", "perfect". It is "instrumentally technical", "virtuosic" , "sonically balanced" and "expressive".

Violinist Sanjar Sapayev is the other soloist in the festive concert "Spain-fire and passion". Only 23 years old, he has already won seven first prizes at prestigious competitions around the world: the International Austrian Music Competition, the İnternatıonal Music Competition ''Heirs of Orpheus'', the NMA ''Prof. Pancho Vladigerov'' - Fifth Academic Violin Competition, Lions İnternational Violin Competition, İnternational Rotary Club Orchestral İnstruments ''Strings solo'' Competition, İnternatıonal Rotary Club Violin Competition. In 2007 and 2013 he won the 3rd and 2nd prizes of the "Prof. Nedyalka Simeonova.

Sanzhar, who in 2012 was admitted to the violin class of prof. Angel Stankov at the NMA "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", is one of the founders of the "SAPAEV" quartet, with which they won the 1st prize of the İnternatıonal Music Competition ''Heirs of Orpheus'' - in the category Chamber Music.

Sanzhar participated as concertmaster in International Youth Projects with concert activities in Germany, Holland, Turkey, Bulgaria. He is an active participant in a number of masterclasses, including those of prof. Mincho Minchev.

The Orchestra of the State Opera Stara Zagora once again this year shows its professionalism and mastery in the performance of instrumental music. Emotional and bravura, the works in the concert "Spain-fire and passion" are a prerequisite for a unique experience at the Opera.

Conductor Krassimir Kashev, who celebrates his 30th season this year, makes this concert truly different and festive with his unceasing energy and creativity. Two premiere titles and a classic, passions and feelings glowing to fire. This is the Spirit of Spain, which comes to life on the stage of the Stara Zagora State Opera - only on 11 December at 7 pm.
