"The Sleeping Beauty" of the State Opera Stara Zagora opens "Stage of the Ages" 2021

15 impressive titles - opera, ballet operetta, symphonic music and musical are included in the main and accompanying programme of the VI Summer Season of the Bulgarian Opera Theatres "Stage of the Ages" in Veliko Tarnovo. The popular festival in Bulgaria and Europe will take place from 3 July to 10 September.
The open stage in the Tsarevets Fortress will host the operas from Varna, Stara Zagora, Ruse and Plovdiv, as well as the Konstantin Kisimov Musical and Dramatic Theatre.
For the first time, the festival will include a master class by the world opera prima Krasimira Stoyanova and a special program for the young audience with the participation of children's formations.
"Stage of the Ages" 2021 will begin on 3 July with the latest and extremely impressive production of the ballet "Sleeping Beauty" by P. И. Tchaikovsky. The production is by Stara Zagora State Opera.
Two of Mozart's most popular operas - the comic The Marriage of Figaro on 25 July, performed by the Ruse Opera, and The Magic Flute by the Theatre and Music Production Centre-Varna on 26 August - will be performed on the open stage at the Tsarevets Palace.
There will be two performances by the Konstantin Kisimov Musical and Dramatic Theatre - Verdi's "La Traviata" on 16 July and the musical "Bulgarians of Old Time" on 10 September.
In the festival program on August 29 the audience will enjoy the popular musical "The Man of La Mancha" - a production of the Theatre and Music Production Center-Varna.
Two concerts are also planned. On July 30, classical music lovers will enjoy the works of Bach and Mozart performed on four pianos by the virtuosos of the Baynov Piano Ensemble, who will be joined by conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov and his Genesis Orchestra. On August 21 will be the concert "Folklore and Classics with the Music of Georgi Andreev" by Symphonieta - Vratsa and FA "Philip Kutev".
"Stage of the Centuries - Looking to the Future" is the new part in this year's edition of the festival. For the first time on 5 July, the ballet school "Classica" at the People's Community Centre "Nadezhda - 1869" - Veliko Tarnovo will perform on the big stage in the Palace of Tsarevets.
"The Nutcracker". On 27 July, the Sofia vocal group "Bon-Bon Music" will present "Cinderella".
Within the framework of the "Stage of the Ages" the world opera prima Krasimira Stoyanova will hold her three-day master class, and the final concert of the young talents will be on 23 August at the "Konstantin Kisimov" MDT.
Traditionally, the accompanying festival programme will be at the Summer Theatre and will include the concerts "Sting the Opera" by the State Opera - Stara Zagora and the Military Big Band, "Let's Listen to the Cinema" by Hilda Kazasyan and the Pleven Philharmonic and "Symphony Way" featuring Vasil Petrov and Symphonieta - Vratsa.
Summer Season of Bulgarian Opera Theatres "Stage of the Ages" is organized by Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, with the support of the Regional History Museum - Veliko Tarnovo and the Municipal Tourist Agency "Tsarevgrad Tarnovo". The big music forum is a winner of the prestigious label "Europe for Festivals. Festivals for Europe" 2021- 2022.
