Tanya Ivanova is Mimi in "Bohemi" on March 31
Tanya Ivanova grew up in Stara Zagora. The soprano did not break the connection with her hometown, where she spent her most carefree years. And where she fell captive to music, to opera, to singing. Life takes her to different parts of Bulgaria and the world, but the talented singer always returns to her hometown with joy. Often we see her even without an occasion in the Opera House - at rehearsals, at ballet, at opera performances. During the last creative season the Stara Zagora audience had the opportunity to applaud Tanya Ivanova's brilliant interpretation of the role of Tosca from Puccini's opera of the same name.
On 31 March at 19.00 on the stage of the Stara Zagora Opera Tanya Ivanova will perform another of her favourite Puccini roles - that of Mimi from the opera Bohemi. The role of Mimi is a key one for Tanya Ivanova. This is the first role from the singer's soprano repertoire. She debuted in 2012 on the stage of the Burgas Opera, for which she is very grateful to the director Alexander Tekeliev for this chance. "Both then and now I try to be as faithful as possible to Puccini's style - for me this is the most important! Singing in front of a home audience is always the most exciting, but also the best. I know that everyone in the hall is always with me."
On 31 March, the soprano will partner in the premiere performance of the opera Bohemi with a magnificent soloist cast: the Ukrainian Mikhailo Malafi will be her beloved Rudolph, Valery Turmanov, Ivaylo Djurov and Ivan Kabamitov will be the other Bohemi, Desi Stefanova will be Musetta, Alexander Marulev will perform the roles of Benoît and Alcindor. Ivaylo Krinchev will stand at the conductor's desk. The new production of the opera Bohemi is directed by Ognyan Draganov in team with the established artists: the Romanian set designer Cataline Ionescu-Arbore and the costume designer Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynova. Also taking part are the choir and orchestra of the State Opera-Stara Zagora, the DYSSO "Daisies" at the State Opera-Stara Zagora. Choirmaster Mladen Stanev.
