The soloist of the State Opera-Stara Zagora - replacing Vladimir Sazdovski in the role of Don Basilio
The Festival of Opera and Ballet Art continues with the guest appearance of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. Tonight, on December 4, at 7 pm, the State Opera-Stara Zagora will present a performance of Rossini's comic opera The Barber of Seville. Together with the entire staff of the MOB - Skopje, the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia Vladimir Lazovski arrived in Stara Zagora and will attend the performance.
The well-known classic title by Rossini will come to life in an original interpretation by Austrian director Ursula Horner. A graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, she has appeared in over 30 productions at the Vienna Opera and later directed musicals and operas in Europe and the USA. She has worked with the world film director Roman Polanski. The set designer of the production is Maria Veteroska, the costumes are by Maria Pupucevska.
In the role of Figaro tonight, the audience will see the talented baritone Marian Jovanoski - a graduate who started his successful career in Bulgaria. Stara Zagora Opera soloist Ivaylo Djurov will replace the suddenly ill Vladimir Sazdovsky in the role of Don Basilio. Also taking part are soloists Biljana Yosifov, Blagoy Natsoski, Neven Silyanovski, Zlata Toshevska, Kristian Antovski and others, as well as the choir and orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. Conductor Ivan Eminović.
Director Ursula Horner describes the production of the opera The Barber of Seville as "Opera-buffa or anything you like is allowed". The production is built on historical references.

200 years separate the two stories. The difference - today it's reality! But don't worry: Dr. Bartolo is not a clown with orange hair! And the opera takes place in a little fantasy forest world. Tiny souls live peacefully together, ready for delight at any moment. Anything goes!
